<\/p>\nIt\u2019s now possible to dine on kosher food within the world\u2019s tallest building.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, September 17, Armani Hotel Dubai in the Burj Khalifa added a new fine-dining experience to its list of culinary options: Armani\/Kaf, a kosher-certified restaurant.<\/p>\n
The 40-seat dinner option is on the ground floor of the luxury hotel, adjacent to Armani\/Hashi, the hotel\u2019s Japanese restaurant. The interiors will be in line with the luxury Armani aesthetic, with views of the Dubai Fountain and Downtown Dubai.<\/p>\n
The restaurant specialises in kosher cuisine that complies with kashrut \u2013 Jewish dietary laws. It will operate under the rabbinical supervision of Rabbi Levi Y Duchman, who has given it Glatt Kosher and Pas Yisroel certifications from the Emirates Kosher Supervising Agency, the only\u00a0kosher certifier in the UAE, the hotel said.<\/p>\n
The menu aims to celebrate the best of kosher cuisine while also paying homage to flavours from around the world. Guests can expect dishes such as\u00a0challah, the classic braided bread, as well as\u00a0braised beef brisket.<\/p>\n
At the culinary helm is Armani Hotel Dubai executive chef Fabien Fayolle who has prepared a menu that offers kosher cuisine while reflecting Dubai\u2019s multicultural makeup. The menu also celebrates signature Armani dishes.<\/p>\n
On the opening season menu is spaghetti bolognese with fresh basil and cherry tomatoes and pan fried sea bass with parsnip puree. Guests can also enjoy classic Middle Eastern dishes such as\u00a0hummus, baba ganoush, fattoush\u00a0and creamy lentil soup.<\/p>\n
The new restaurant also offers guests of the hotel kosher in-room dining. Armani\/Kaf is closed to dine-in guests on Fridays, but offers a special takeaway menu for Shabbat, the Jewish Sabbath.<\/p>\n
The takeaway menu, priced at Dh240, includes a salad of the day with\u00a0challah, grilled salmon with baby vegetables and spinach, pan-seared chicken breast with mashed potatoes and asparagus and sliced fruit.<\/p>\n
A\u00a0delivery service is in the process of being developed and will be announced soon, the hotel says.<\/p>\n
Armani\/Kaf is open Sunday-Thursday, from 6.30pm to 11.30pm.<\/p>\n
Hotels in Abu Dhabi\u00a0have also been asked to start serving kosher food, under a new directive from the emirate\u2019s tourism board. A note issued by the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi said hotels are \u201cadvised to include kosher food options\u201d on room service menus and at food and beverage outlets.<\/p>\n
\u201cAccordingly, the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi is instructing all hotel establishments of the following: to seek kosher certification for handling kosher meals,” it said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile Emirates airline’s catering division has announced it is opening the first major kosher food production facility in the UAE. Emirates Flight Catering\u00a0is setting up the food production facility at the company\u2019s headquarters in Dubai. Called Kosher Arabia, the global catering company will begin producing meals from the facility in January next year.<\/p>\n
